Having an email marketing strategy for your online business is a must. You will discover, through publishing your own newsletter that it will provide you with the opportunity to educate your customer’s by giving them more information on the products or service you are offering. Use yourself for an example. When you gain more knowledge on a product or service and have all the information you need to get the full understanding of how it works, aren’t you more likely to buy?
Email marketing is not only a great way to update and educate your customer’s on your products and services but it is also a great communication tool; by publishing your newsletter, you will be able to deliver your content of great value directly to your customers and prospects. After you have delivered your email to your readers, your readers can visit your web site at their own leisure and respond to what you have to offer.
Let’s put it this way, I’ll use my self as an example. When I receive a newsletter and read it and like what they have to offer but I don’t have the time to go to their web site to see what the offer is about, I’ll save their newsletter for when I do have the time to check it out. If I like what their offering me, I end up buying it. This how I discovered how valuable email marketing is for an online business, through my own personal experience.
Through publishing a newsletter, you will build personal credibility. Building your personal credibility will help you build an email list quickly and is cost effective. Once your customers see that you’re a credible person in your field, you are on your road to success.
When publishing a newsletter, don’t just put a bunch of ads in your newsletter. If your newsletter is nothing but an ad sheet, you can be assured that it will almost never grow. Your customers will hit the delete button before they get through the first paragraph if they didn’t already hit it when they saw it in the subject line. After a while of just getting ads, when they see it is from you, they won’t even open up the email. If you’re looking to build your email list, then make sure quality information comes first and then quantity is sure to follow.
If you can demonstrate to your customers on a regular basis that you are competent in your field and are able to help them, they’re a lot more likely to buy something from you. This is email marketing at it’s best, sending messages to a warm and friendly audience of interested people who you already know have a interest in what you are selling.
Now this is where email promotion marketing comes in. Email promotion marketing is where you use the method of leverage with your existing customers to gain new customers. You will discover that this is a great opportunity to develop a good marketing strategy to capture a lot of email addresses. Use different ways to encourage your existing customers to get new customers to subscribe to your newsletter.
A good method to use with your existing customers, who are well pleased with your products, is to ask them to inform their friends and let them know how pleased they were with your products. Have them forward your newsletter to a friend if it is good valuable information you are offering, ask them if they would take part in sharing it with their friends. Be creative, use your imagination to come up with some good ideas. (Tip) Word of mouth goes a long way on the internet.
Why should I publish a newsletter? What good can they do for me? One of the reasons for publishing a newsletter is to stay in touch with your customers and potential customers, not to mention the low cost. This tried and true email marketing method is one that every major marketer uses today and have been using from the start. If you’re just beginning, this marketing method will work for you also.
Take a look at the most successful business online today. You’ll find that these successful businesses are without fail the same businesses that are building up their opt-in email list. They know how very important email marketing is for their online business. As I said many of times, the key to a successful online business is to provide your customers with high quality information.

In this article I write about two issues concerning list building: what is the most effective way to collect the email addresses and what to do with those addresses?
1.Put The Opt In Form On Your Site And Blog.
If you put yourself into the trousers of your prospect, would you be interested to know, what you are ordering?
I bet, yes you would!
The only right way to build opt in email list is to collect the names and addresses from your own site or blog. In tis way people know, what kind of information they are getting.
It is clear that the list building takes time, but through effective email marketing campaign you can start to market to the people, even if you have ten names on your list.
My own opt in email list grows by about 40 new names per week. It`s really not a world record, but it makes over 2.000 people a year, and these people are INTERESTED about what they have ordered.
I use the opt in form on all of my site pages ( including articles ) and on my affiliate marketing blog, so when the site visitor is fascinating about my information ( sometimes it happens ) he can sign in immediately and get more useful information.
The idea is to turn the “hot” visitor into a long term friend and use the email marketing campaign to keep contact with him during a long period of time.
By the way, my list building target for this year is a little bit higher, I try to get 3.000 new names. That would be a great kick for my online income too.
2.Remember: Your Friends Are On Your Opt In Email List.
What is the most unpolite way to keep contact? Well, I think one of the worst ways is to use email marketing campaign, which is based on autoresponder emails. Especially if they look like that!
Emails, especially from friends, are seen always as personal messages. It doesn`t matter, that the receiver understands that the email is a part of a email marketing campaign!
This means that an effective marketer segment the addresses on his opt in email list and sends taylor-made messages for each segment. This increases the conversion rate.
So very clearly the email marketing campaign is 100 % relationship building, using autoresponder, yes, but by sending segmented messages.
The reason ,why people has joined your opt in email list is, that they are waiting valuable information. The information, which they can utilize in their own internet business.
This is very important point, especially when the email marketing campaigns last several months or a couple of years.

Having recently added a new product line to my website which uses email marketing, I found this technique very powerful. I then realized many newbies may not know what this is all about, how it works, and what to expect when using it.
So, here’s a quick over view of email marketing and why it can be so effective in your online business growth and success:
First, it is a proven fact and online statistic that it takes the typical online shopper 5-7 exposures to the product, service or program before they become a paying customer. Email marketing makes this work perfectly. Let me explain this in more detail so you can apply the techniques on your site.
When a prospect stops by your website, you need to capture their name and email address so you can followup with them over the next several days. You can do this with a “lead capture form” or “opt in form” where they enter their name and email address at your sign up form.
Often you may offer a FREE gift for then signing up. This free gift will start to build your relationship with them and also tends to get you more sign ups which is your goal.
Opt-ing in is important because with the anti-spam laws you don’t want to be accused of spamming, or sending emails to people that did not request your information. The autoresponder sets all this up so the sign up will get an email asking them to agree that they indeed asked for the information by clicking on a confirmation link. Once they do this, the autoresponder will automatically send them your first email message!
There always is the chance of someone signing up just for the free gift, then becoming a customer as they learn from your followup messages. That’s why it is important to get everyone’s contact info that stops by your site.
This sign up form then sends their information to your “autoresponder”. An autoresponder stores your prospect information, and also holds a series of followup messages or emails that get sent to them AUTOmatically over a period of up to 30 days or so.There are many autoresponders to choose from but we recommend only a few that are very reliable.
This is all set up in the autoresponder by you. You don’t want to bother them with a barrage of emails, as you could get accused of spamming. You typically will send a message once a day or every other day for up to about 30 days.Beyond the first week you will lengthen the time between messages to maybe every 3rd or 4th day.
One thing we noticed is even with very well written emails that don’t get sent to peoples spam folders ( bulk, trash folders), many will opt in and never click on the confirmation link. Then some will click on it days later! Some will “opt out” after the first email followup, and some will read all of your messages, and not purchase. That is fine because there will be a percentage that will buy. Your email marketing system has done its job of weeding through your prospects and finding the purchasers! It’s all a numbers game.
The more people you send to your opt in form, the more buyers your email marketing system will find and close for you.
If you have well written followup messages, you will see a certain percentage of them contacting you or buying around the 5th to 7th email.
One really important item on email marketing before we close this topic for now is all of these people that sign up to your opt in form, over time can grow to a large number of people. This is what the guru’s refer to as your “list”. Just think if you had a 10,000 sized list. If you sent an email about a new product, do you think a certain percentage may purchase it?
That’s the power of email marketing.
Next time we will offer you specific tips and tricks on how you can ensure that your emails get read, how to select subject lines that result in emails opened and read, and how this whole email marketing thing can be set up to what we use in our business to be very close to fully automatic marketing.
The email message campaign starting with our opt in page, basically churns through our prospects, weeds out the tire kickers, and closes our sales. A well written program can do this quite effectively for you.
To your prosperity!

There is one question that I hear most from small business owners looking to crack the nut of online advertising. It’s a nut that continuously eludes even the craftiest of businessmen.
“Where can I purchase a list of email addresses?”
HTML email newsletters and email campaigns are great! They are a fantastic way to build awareness of new products, position yourself as an expert and touch every client on a regular basis. They help to drive a constant flow of repeat traffic to your website, and correctly instituted, result in big sales increases.
Now our marketing execs, just having crafted a new newsletter and having found Constant Contact or one of the multitude of Email Marketing web sites, are eager to get a list and start advertising to every inbox in a thousand miles. They’re blown away by the price point difference, between the email and direct mail. Finally, they can reach everyone and for almost nothing… and there is the catch.
It’s relatively easy, with a quick Google search, to buy a list of anything. You want the entire library records of Omaha, Nebraska… Done! How about the addresses of every construction company in the nation… Done! Email addresses can be purchased with ease as well, but a word of caution on any of these lists…
DO YOU REALLY WANT TO SPAM EVERY POTENTIAL CUSTOMER?
There’s a couple of big points here. Not only is spamming illegal (and there can be some pretty big penalties for this, i.e. shutting down your domain), but it’s also just not wise from a marketing standpoint.
Hold on! What about direct mail? Everyone knows that you can get a list and send out as much as you want. Companies do it every day, and it’s considered one of the most effective forms of advertising.
While all that is true, remember that the big advantage that email marketing has over direct mail is price point. In fact, while direct mail is legal, it’s also costly. This serves as a self limiting factor. You can only send out as many ads as you can afford. A computer, on the other hand, can send out a million emails in an hour for almost nothing.
I don’t know about you, but getting SPAM leaves a pretty bad taste in my mouth. It sure doesn’t provide me any incentive to use the service of a company, so unprofessional, as to cloud my inbox with every offer, promotion or survey they can think of. In fact, it can do a lot to hinder the building of customer relationships that CAN help drive your business to the next level.
Email marketing is and should be conducted on a permission basis only! In fact, the other name for this type of service is “permission based marketing”. If spamming is reported, the email dissemination service will ban you very quickly.
So here is the big question. How do you reap the big benefits of email marketing? How do you get permission to send out your emails? How do you build a list?
Well, every business card in your Rolodex is fair game, but we highly recommend that you contact these people before entering their name into a database. Enter-to-win campaigns are also a popular way to build your list, but require you to have a storefront. Having a signup box on your website is a must. Each type of business is unique and requires a different solution. There are just too many options to list here, and new, creative ways are being invented everyday. Every beginning email marketing campaign should start with a thorough conversation on how to build a successful list and appropriate names where possible.
Used properly, email marketing can position your company as a provider of solutions instead of a spamming pain in the neck.

Video email is one of the many ways to market your business. Both businesses that are a brick and mortar and E-commerce can take advantage of this marketing tool. Videos are an innovative way to communicate effectively and more personally with your business acquaintances as well as your present and future clients. Statistics from one of the video email program reported 700 million email users are sending over 30 billion emails every day (research did not support nor invalidate this statistic). It is important to understand the CAN-SPAM Act, as well as Fair use relating to music and your video email marketing. Take advantage of your creativity and try using this tool with your business marketing.
Reasons to use video email marketing services:
- Ease of Use
- Automatic Reporting
- Instant email notification
- Video email will build brand loyalty
- Increase customer relations and retention
- Reduce advertising costs
- Qualify sales leads and increase response rates.
Whether you choose to incorporate digital pictures, or video is a personal choice. I have used a digital camera that has the option to shoot video (check with the camera manufacturer for more info). It is possible to add music in the video and relatively easy to do. Instead of plain email, show and tell your clients what is new with your company, incorporate pictures of recent special events, advertise specials or thank them for their business. I have used Windows Movie Maker to incorporate pictures with text, transitions and sound as well as edit and subscribed to a service which streamed video. I am told that Adobe has a great video editing software but I do not have evidence to support this claim. How you choose to incorporate video email is totally up to your imagination.
With regard to using music within your video email, it is important to mention Fair use. Because the Fair use doctrine in United States copyright law is almost impossible to interpret without a lawyer present, I recommend paying a royalty fee because paying a royalty fee may be much less expensive than having a potential copyright suit threaten the publication of a completed work. I researched Fair use and found a reasonable amount of information concerning the Fair use on wikipedia.org but to really understand it thouroughly I think I will go to law school.
With respect to email, It is important to mention that anyone using doing business be aware of and understand the CAN-SPAM Act of 2003 (Controlling the Assault of Non-Solicited Pornography and Marketing Act). The Act outlines the requirements for commercial emailers and includes the penalties for spammers and companies whose products are advertised in spam if they violate the law, and gives the consumer the right to ask emailers to quit sending them spam. The entire CAN-SPAM Act is available in pdf format, as well as printable and may be emailed form the Federal Trading Commission website which is easily found by searching using the keyword Can-SPAM Act.
Video email is a fun way to market your information, ideas and products to your current and prospective clients. It can also be used for personal use to send announcements to friends and relatives. There are a variety of video email services to choose from including Talk Fusion, CoVideo, Benchmarkrichmedia, and a host of others offering similar services and many offer a free trial period. As the popularity of this marketing tool increases, more products are sure to surface. Why not get creative and have fun while marketing your business and try video email marketing.
