3 Mistakes I Made When I Started Internet Marketing

Hello everybody, sorry it took me a while to make a new post. I was confined in the hospital for 3-boring-days. I was suffering from an Acute Gastro-Intritis and my body could not do anything else but sleep and eat. For me, it was a very unproductive 3-days but I had no choice.

Anyway, at least I’m back alive and kicking again, this time I’ll be a little more careful on what to eat.

Today, we will be discussing on a few of the mistakes I made during the start of my ventures as an internet marketer-entrepreneur. Actually, I am writing this article because I want you to learn a very basic principle in business – the Law Of Focus.

Like any newbie, it was not at all pleasant and smooth flowing when I started. I made many mistakes, and have even made the same mistakes again and again until I realized that I had already spent a significant amount of money without earning a single cent. Although through that I was able to realize the application of the law of focus but it still came with a price.

Well here are the mistakes that I made during the start of my internet marketing ventures:

1. I paid for a membership site to take surveys.
I think this is one of the costly mistakes that I did. I actually paid two membership sites that were promising a pool of companies that will pay you (once a member) to take their surveys.

Actually, in my opinion it wasn’t purely a scam. But the problem was that all the surveys were looking for USA residents and mostly in the state of New York and California. So since I am from the Philippines, my investment in that site was really short lived and never realized an ROI.

2. Paid to click sites
I also got confused with this kind of tool to earn money online. The concept is, you go to a site and become a member and usually it’s for free. Once you are a member, you are then given links to click, which leads you to a website that is paying the PTC advertiser. Once the website fully loads, then a few cents will be credited to your account.

Although I believe this not a scam, but it is a waste of time and it robs you of your capacity to be creative in trying to earn money online. Secondly, the money threshold wherein you can withdraw your earnings are designed to be very steep.

3. Getting too much information on many internet gurus
As a person, I like reading many books and theories, so when I started my online business I read all the internet ebooks that I could get. Although I only paid a dollar per ebook, but if I would total it all, it already caused a dent on my wallet.

Friends, My advise to you is this.

If you want to start earning real money online, start by focusing on a single internet marketing strategy. Or better yet start with the basic and free platforms that allows you to earn, like blogging for Google AdSense using blogger.com.

Secondly focus your efforts. Once you’ve decided on which internet marketing strategy you will focus, pursue it until you reach your desired output. When I say output, it doesn’t have to be money but at least it can rank top 5 on that specific niche on major search engines like Google, Yahoo, and Bing.

Now I hope you’ve learned from the mistakes that I committed when I started in internet marketing. Please share your comments and suggestion below.

Dedicated to your success,

Jake
